Hey you guys! I have a little treat for you today! Well, okay, it’s probably not that cool, but it’s a treat for me at least! I have wanted a floor plan of my house for a year now. I’ve scoured the internet looking for it and it’s nowhere to be found! I tried to [...]

Add to myYahoo!Materials: Cutlery (BONUS) just the spoons, screws
Description: As I have already said before: the cheap and cheap-looking cutlery BONUS attracted me to define it again. With two sets of cutlery (24 pieces for 2.99 euro ) I made several hacks.
The second hack only affects a supplement. I found the handles of the drawers of a yawner (and I admit that the drawers are no IKEA products, please forgive me), so the best husband of all, and I have selected the tablespoons, bend a bit and deal with holes provided. Since the material of the cutlery is quite thin, there was no problem with the drill. To attach the handles I've used the original screws and then mounted the original attacks inside. Because they do not interfere and I did not need to look for fixtures. Now the furniture has unusual handles that fit well in a dining room. In keeping with the theme.

The Milwaukee Fluorescent Lighting Tester is one of those ho-hum looking tools that will drastically change somebodies day. It doesn’t look like a big deal but for the maintenance guy who wanders around your building grumbling about fixing lights all day this will be forever attached to his belt. What it does is allow you to check exactly whats wrong with fluorescent lighting with out touching it or getting a ladder in most cases. To our way of thinking somebody should have come up with this a long time ago.
Here’s the deal, should you come across a dark bulb just extend the 3′ wand and put the cupped plate in contact with the glass. The wand sends a super low current through to the gas inside the bulb and if it lights it’s just a bad bulb. If it doesn’t switch to “Ballast” mode and wave the wand at either connection point. If it beeps the ballast is good, if not, you have a bad ballast at that end. You can also do a pin check by inserting the pins of a bulb into the checker located at the bottom of the unit and get a tone for good and no tone for bad.
There are a few drawbacks of course, if the bulbs have a cover plate on the lightbox you’ve rendered the lamp check powerless and are basically screwed and the unit doesn’t make lightsaber sounds even though a more perfect app will never present itself.
We’re guessing for most folks out there this tool will make no difference at all. For a very select few the ability to troubleshoot lighting on a 9 to 10 foot ceiling without a ladder and know exactly whats happening up there in seconds is going to be worth whatever Milwaukee is charging for it.

Add to myYahoo!Materials: Cutlery (BONUS), peace of wood, screws
Description: The cheap and cheap-looking cutlery BONUS attracted me to define it again. With two sets of cutlery (24 pieces for 2.99 euro each set) I made several hacks. Here comes the first: Carefully bend forks with pliers. Drill hole and screw to a piece of wood. Tadaaa! A unique piece for the kitchen or as a coat hook.
Fertig. Ein Unikat für Küche oder als Kleiderhaken.

I just remembered it was safe to share this mini cake photo with you that I made for a friend's birthday.I want to stress that I am not a cake decorator whatsoever I just wing it. I have found some helpful tools as I go along. One of them is an icing sculpting set my hubby gave me for my birthday. That's what I used to create theridges around main part of the cake.
To bake my cake I used an idea I borrowed from pinterest where you bake mini cakes using food cans you've saved. For this cake I used a large canned pear can and sprayed the inside with Pam cooking spray and then filled it 3/4 the way full.
For the flavoring I used packets of crystal light raspberry pink lemonade to flavor both the white cake mix and the frosting.
