I've been busy stocking my booth at Orange Tree for the Memorial Day sale. This is one of our big sales of the year and I always do 25% off.
I found a couple old spools and fancied them up with graphics from Graphics Fairy, lace, and buttons. I priced these at $7-$9
A couple of mirrored frames I filled with sheet music and printed graphics from Graphics Fairy (I saw this on a blog somewhere)It is a great inexpensive way to fill frames. I priced these at $12
Yes, I got on the book band wagon. I thought I would give a couple a try..they sold. Then I thought I would make some more.....They sold. So, I made some more. I sell them for $6-8 a piece and they are turning out to be a good seller.
I painted and added vintage jewels to a napkin holder. HERE is a post on some I previously did.
I am always in need of pictures for my booth. I paint the frames white and filled them with pictures I already had.
I showed you a glove box I altered HERE? It already sold, so I made up another one.
I priced this at $19
I made this flower and I would be happy to show you how, if you are interested. I know when I see a blog with yet another flower tutorial I go "Oh, not another one", but I always look! So let me know, this one was easy!
So, there ya have it, no earth shattering transformations, just stuff for my booth
The sale is May 27-30
So, if you're in the area stop inOrange Tree Antiques MallOrlando Ave, Winter Park, Florida
I will be picking the winner for my Cottage Charm giveaway on the 29th, last chance to enter.
Happy Creating!

Ok, so we’re a little late on this. But hey — at least you’ve got until October now, right? An awesome friend shot me a link to a post over on the Highland Woodworking blog carrying a list — actually, a really well-thought-out list — of stuff around the shop that’d help you in an apocalyptic zombie attack. (The post seems to be a response to the CDC recommendations — no, really — that prove once and for all that the CDC does indeed have a sense of humor.)
Besides tagging Festool’s contractor first aid kit as an obvious choice, they recommend the lathe skew chisel, cordless drill (w/spade bit), and cordless recip as primary anti-zombie weapons, and note that Japanese cut-off saws would work great for hand-to-hand combat. One maybe-not-so-good option, though, is a chain saw, as TM reader Dreamcatcher points out in my favorite comment so far this week:
“Sure they seem cool and you can?t make a zombie movie without one but in reality would you want to rely on a chainsaw for personal defense? They are often undependable to start on the first pull, they use fuel at a rapid pace, and while they?ll cut some flesh they don?t really cut ?mushy? things all that well (ever cut a punk log?).”
Notice as well that the first comment on the Highland post suggests a Paslode framing nailer with the safety disabled for “better standoff distance.” Funny note about that: After shooting this much-maligned video to explain how the Paslode works (following the 900th time someone asked us in email), we tried like hell to get it to shoot a nail into something from any distance. We discovered two things: 1) That’s a really thorough safety, and 2) you really, really, wouldn’t want to depend on this thing for ranged defense. Just sayin’.
(Thanks, mangpages, for the great CC-licensed photo. And thanks “Vels” for the awesome heads-up on the story.)

Handyguy Brian had the following conversation, via instant messaging, with his lovely wife (or so he thought) about how to troubleshoot a no display issue with a thermostat and no Air Conditioning (AC). No audio here. Some steps for troubleshooting your AC, thermostat or heat. Below is an actual conversation. The initial assumption was bad [...]Related shows:

Materials: Trofast x's 2, mdf, connecting hardware, glue, nails
Description: We used 2 Trofast frames and put them together according to manufacturers instructions. We connect them together using connecting hardware. We then cut mdf top to fit over both units with some hang over on each side then we cut strips to nail/glue underneath top to keep top from sliding off.
See more of the Trofast play table.

Big thanks to TM reader Matt who emailed us about this awesome video from the DIY Network in which Norm Abrams shows off what might just be the most intricate, ornate, and artful tool chest… in the world. (/Clarkson). Norm says it was built by a Boston piano maker named “Henry Studley” (completely appropriate surname, btw) and features Honduran mahogany with ebony panels. But the magic is inside.
Norm opens the case in the video to show a massive number of woodworking tools (300 to 400, he says) layered three and four deep via an intricate system of hinged mounting panels. Note the little architecturally-styled accents, like the one around the cubby holding a Stanley #1 plane. Seriously, folks, if you’re a Toolmonger and you’re only going to watch one video today, this is the one.
