I've been seeing lots of melted crayon art all over Pinterest ( Click HERE for original source) and thought I'd tackle my own. It was so quick and easy!
First, I picked up 4 boxes of Crayola crayons (for just $0.40 a box thanks to back to school specials!) and a blank canvas from Joann's at a 50% off sale.
I pulled out the white, black and brown crayons and then stuck the crayons I was using on the board with a hot glue gun.Be sure to lay down a drop cloth before you start melting the crayons, because the crayons DO splatter! Then, turn on your hairdryer and watch the crayons quickly melt.
The whole project (both gluing and melting) took just 15 minutes and the total cost was under $10. Not bad for a 10x16 custom piece of art!
love, S

Add to myYahoo!Oral rehydration salts (ORS) is a special drink that consists of a combination of dry salts. When properly mixed with safe water, the ORS drink can help rehydrate the body when a lot of fluid has been lost due to diarrhoea. A child with diarrhoea should never be given any tablets, antibiotics or other medicines unless these have been prescribed by a medical professional or a trained health worker. The best treatment for diarrhoea is to drink lots of liquids and oral rehydration salts (ORS) properly mixed with water.

Milwaukee tells us that the single biggest problem they discovered among handheld PEX cutter users was handle strength: eventually end-users would squeeze hard enough on the cutters to snap the handles. After seeing lots of jobsite guys modifying the handles themselves to make them stronger, Milwaukee came out with the all-metal cutters you see above, which they claim are “virtually indestructible.”
Another cool feature: the cutter’s V-shaped blade. Unlike common flat blades, the V-shaped blade pierces the PEX first, requiring less grip force to cut tubing. And when the blade wears out, just swap in a new one. The cutter’s jaws open wide, too, accepting up to 1″ tubing. Milwaukee also touts a “rework groove” that’s design to strip ProPex couplings, but we’ll have to wait ’till we dig into one of these suckers in person to see what they’re talking about.
In the meantime, though, this looks like a pretty decently upgraded tool compared to the PEX cutters we’ve seen to date. We’ll update you with pricing when these are available. We bet it’s cheaper than the old Milwaukee 12V powered tubing cutter, though.

Add to myYahoo!OK, I'm busted, it's not everything you wanted to know. But...

There are a few topics that come back and again to DIYP and each post that deals with any of them is super popular. With more than five years of posting on Light Painting, Shaped Bokeh and obscure ways to get your camera high (pun intended), I thought it would be a good service to create resource pages about those topics.
Consider those pages your entry ticket to each of the topics.
Everything You Wanted To Know About Light Painting, where we discuss the magic science / art of light painting with lots of vivid examples and a broad overview of tools, techniques and light painting hacks.
Everything You Wanted To Know About The Magical Shaped Bokeh, where we show how much fun this simple technique can be. starting with the super simple card and scissors hack and moving up to more advanced and creative ways of using shaped bokeh.
Everything You Wanted To Know About Getting Your Camera High (Aerial Photography). If you ever wanted to get your camera high in the air, this resource page will provide all the options to doing so. Hopefully You'll get it back once it lands.
