Ryan Pourcillie hacked his inkjet printer to have a straight through path so that he could print resist directly onto a copper clad board to make a custom PCB. He then uses special ink in the printer which can act as a resist since the normal ink jet ink would just be eaten away in [...]

Add to myYahoo! This knot is much like a square knot (also known as the reef knot). However, the difference lies in the fact that a granny knot won't stay done up, so it's not one to use when you want to the knot not to come undone. You can tell that you have a granny knot by the ends leaving perpendicular to the working line.

Add to myYahoo!Mike Szczys from Jumptuck has put his larsen scanner to good use by using it as a status indicator on his computer. Materials: Ikea Helmer file cabinet, black spray paint, chinese chinoserie image from online and mod podge
Description: I wanted my file cabinet to look less like a file cabinet so I decided to have a little fun with it.
First I sprayed the cabinet a flat black paint, then I googed the word chinese chinoserie online. When I found an image I liked I printed it off on my printer and then took it to the local print store and had them enlarge it to the size of my cabinet. I took off the hardware, placed the image on the cabinet and started mod podging away! Once the cabinet was dry I cut out the drawers and put the hardware back on. Done!!

Materials: Maskros Lighting & Pink & White Poster Board Paint
Description: I wanted to do a gradient color affect on the lighting that was going to go in my daughter's room. She likes color and she's a girly girl so we chose pink. I divided the flowers into 3 groups. I started with a pure hot pink and painted the 1st set, then added some white to create a nice strong pink for the 2nd set of "flowers" and then added lots of white to the pink to create a very pale pink. I decided not to paint the white caps so the lighting would look like pink petals. The project was super easy and I did it over 2 days and only because it took some time for the paint to dry.

Add to myYahoo!A new design launching this week should appeal to keyboardists who want both more expressive touch control and a keyboard – without sacrificing one or the other. Yes, yes, multi-touch on tablets does indeed give your fingers access to continuous control for added expression and pitch. But there’s a reason keyboards evolved keys: tangible feedback … Continue →
