This video gives advice on how to "respectfully" break up with someone. Although it mentions boyfriend, it is really teaching anyone to treat the one you're breaking up with as you would want it for yourself.

It’s GearWrench’s mainstay: Start with a tool that everyone uses a lot, then make it configurable so it’s a hell of a lot easier to position (or re-position). Remember when ratcheting box-end wrenches seemed like some kind of As Seen on TV(tm) gimmick? Now even your grandpa owns a set. And who doesn’t keep an indexing ratchet around to get at hard-to-reach nuts and bolts? Now you can even score a nail puller with an indexing head.
It’s pretty much like your everyday nail puller — 12″ long with a forged steel head — but you can twist the head around through 180 degrees. The head locks into place in 14 separate angles, so you can set it up to get the best pulling leverage even when the nail is in between studs or otherwise difficult to get at.
Street pricing starts around $25, and it looks readily available online. This isn’t one of those tools you’ll probably include in a “starter” kit for your buddy who just bought his first house, but if you’re a carpenter or framer, it might be handy to have in the truck. It’s a bummer when you shoot a nail in wonky and it sticks out enough to keep you from just burying it and moving on. And generally you’re most likely to shoot wonky nails into funky little hard-to-reach spots.

I believed all of us heard about lighten flywheel. It is an inexpensive and easy wake to wake up your Normally aspirated or Turbocharged engine. Sorry for auto tranny owners as this is only applicable for manual tranny. The are no negative effects to lightening your stock flywheel unlike replacing it with an ultra-lightweight Aluminum flywheel. Most manufacturers make the stock flywheel very heavy because this makes the engine very smooth and enables it to retain energy at part throttle cruise and up long grades for better fuel economy.
However, an Aluminum flywheel goes completely the other direction with almost no weight. This lets the engine rev up very quickly and allows the engine to work easier due to the reduced weight spinning around on the back of the crank. This is fine as long as you are at full throttle and wide open throttle all the time like in a Road Race or Drag Race only car. As soon as you let off the gas the engine RPM drops instantly and the car slows down. In a road car this causes surging and bucking at cruise speeds and poor drive ability and clutch engagement. Thus a lot of people will tell you that lighten your flywheel will cause your car does not have enough momentum when driving uphill.
A lightened stock unit on the other hand gives you the best of both worlds. It is a compromise between the OVERLY HEAVY OEM unit and a TOO LIGHT Racing unit. You get the benefits of both with none of the bad qualities.
Turbo cars are exceptionally critical to flywheel weight. Too light a flywheel will make the car rev faster and possibly come on boost faster but that is only half the issue. When you let off the gas to shift the car will drop off of boost just as quickly causing a poor transition when you come back on the throttle.
Basically when lightened a stock unit, we will try to maintain it around 3.5-4.5kg lighter than the original yet still give the driveability needed for street use. By the way, lighten flywheel will only taken off the weight from the back side of the flywheel so the surface is still the same height and your clutch still fits and works the same.
Anyway, here is an example:
a) 10Kg of flywheel + Clutch Cover + Clutch Plate is rotating at 7000 rpm
b) 13Kg of flywheel + Clutch Cover + Clutch Plate is rotating at 7000 rpm
a will definitely has a better pickup compare to b but b will give better power at the higher rpm. At the end of the day, this is all depends on individual preference.

Add to myYahoo!Once the kitchen is done - I'm going to rearrange two of the spare bedrooms. The first floor bedroom is right off of the dining room. It's going to be my next project. Right now that room is a craft/office area. It's always a mess. It may or may not currently only have a path to the desk. Okay, seriously...if I was sitting at the desk and you walked in, it'd take days to find me.
It used to look like this. Then the twin bed became my niece's big girl bed and a tornado (not literally) went through and it doesn't resemble this anymore except that the mirror with the broken scroll and curtains are still there.
We have a smaller extra bedroom upstairs with this beautiful poster bed in ivory...
That bed is getting moved to the bigger room on the first floor but I'm keeping my office there too. It's a blank slate. Plywood subfloor. Four unframed windows. Tiny closet. A French door with sliding barn door hardware lead to the dining room...the door in the background shown here:
and there are doors leading to the laundry room and this bathroom:
Both the bathroom and laundry room open to the family room. Here's a rough drawing of where it sits and why if the craft room moves upstairs, it won't be such a disaster on the main floor (upstairs disasters are okay - just shut the door, right?). The next project on our list is the room to the right:
This room will be my first attempt at DIY wainscoting and framing the windows. I can also either paint the floor like I did in the bathroom pictured above but depending on budget, I'd love to go ahead and get the dark distressed, wide planked bamboo we're installing in the kitchen, dining room and pantry (2 more weeks!) and eventually the entire first floor..
I snagged a beautiful lantern type chandelier from Habitat Restore last year that's going in here too! It's similar to this PB version except a beautiful antique gold...
What's the color scheme you ask? (You were going to!) I know I'm using are a creamy white and antiqued gold. Other than that, I'm still gathering inspiration. I'd love to maybe use navy. But I'm also leaning towards rustic reclaimed wood tones paired with the ivory and gold.
Most of my other furniture will be from thrift shops, Craigs List or estate sales but for a desk I'm considering something along these lines...

I love pairing rustic/vintage with sophisticated...it may not be everyone's decorating choice, but I do what I love.
Something like this is pretty...

A desk armoire is a great choice too, especially to keep all of the ugly desk top computer components hidden when not in use.

Do you have a home office combined with another area? Any advice or pictures to share? I'd love to see how it works for you!

If you've been here over that last week, you know that we love ring flashes. In fact we love them so much we made one :)
While we have featured many many strobe based ring flashes, there is one thing they can not do. Shoot video. This is where you would have to go to a continuous light ring lights.
They have a very flattering quality of light. It just because they are usually so big. If an average strobe ring flash is 40 cm across, you can easily build an 8 or 12 bulbs ring light which is a meter across. Which is just what British videographer Rick Clarke did.
The video is packed with useful info both on how this light works and on how you would go building one with a very minimal set of tools.

Materials: 4 LACK side tables, 1 VIKA AMON table top
Description: The LACK side tables were assembled first and 2 of them were attached using L flat brackets to form one row. Next, they were attached to the VIKA AMON table top using eight 2.5" screws with washers.
They were placed upside down to use my weight to clamp them down firmly.
Once the VIKA AMON table top were attached, it was time to attach the lower row. I used flat metal brackets from GORM to fix them together. One is used on each leg at the back side. 2 pieces were also used to further strengthen the hold between the VIKA AMON top and the tables.
Since I plan to have plaster or gypsum boards covering the sides and back of the sideboard, I used L brackets to attach the top and bottom row, facing inwards. In the picture they look brass, maybe they are.
This is my first wood project since I was in high school so I'm proud of it even if it's very simple.
Enjoy!
