Add to myYahoo!Giving your valedictorian or graduation speech at the end of your time at high school is both an exciting and sometimes daunting task, and it is one that most speech givers relish. Its aim is to provide a persuasive, moving, and ultimately uplifting speech in which listeners are not only given a fond farewell but they're also inspired to go forth and achieve their greatest. That's quite a task to ask of the speech giver all in one but it's definitely achievable with some planning and mapping out of the points you wish to get across.

Add to myYahoo! It's official...I am Pinterest obsessed! I could spend weeks on that site and have collected about a million ideas for future craft and design projects.
Such as...button letters. So simple, colorful, fun and easy!
I headed to Hobby Lobby to buy a bag of buttons. $4.99, but purchased with a 50% off coupon of course!
And then printed off a letter S from Google images and cut it out...
I traced the S onto the piece of scrapbook paper and started glueing the buttons.
Once it was all done, I let it dry for a few hours than cut the S out and used ModPodge to adhere it to a peice of orange cardstock.
Viola!?
Isn't it fun! I think this would be adorable in a nursery as well. Since buttons come in an huge array of colors and shapes, the options are endless.
*Please note that it is best to use a shadow box frame or you will have to remove the glass from a regular frame (which is what I did). ?
Have a fabulous week! -Suzanne

Add to myYahoo! You may have already drooled over this, but in case you haven't seen it (I'm late too despite the TONS of features - where have I been?)...I thought I'd share a link to Mikey's beautiful French Farm Kitchen.
More pictures and details at Shabby French Cottage.
Beautiful and all done on a $1200 budget. I'd cook every day, sleep and work there. :)

Had an interesting day today going to San Francisco to my beautiful niece Samantha's graduation party. She graduated from Hasting's Law school in San Francisco. I'm so proud of her she has accomplished a lot all pretty much on her own while dealing with some health issues.
San Francisco is huge city! I've been going there since I was little kid and I have yet to see all of this awesome city. I drove up with another niece and her GF and they took me to a great beach that is dog friendly (for all you dog lovers!). It's right at the end of Sloat Blvd and Great Hwy. When I go to SF I don't think of going to the beach, so this was a nice change.
We enjoyed the beautiful sunshine until it got too chilly and then they took me just up the street to Sigmund Stern Grove. What a hidden treasure this park is! Surrounded by the city is this beautiful grove of redwoods, fir and eucalyptus trees! As you enter the park and drive down into it you feel like your in the mountains and not at all in the city! Apparently there are many hiking paths for you to walk and a dog park somewhere, though we didn't see it. At the base of the park is a natural amphitheater. Apparently it's one of Northern California's favorite concert sites and I can definitely see why, it's just gorgeous! I definitely plan to go back.
If you find yourself in SF and are looking for something not quite on the beaten path, I definitely recommend these two places!

Add to myYahoo!Did someone steal your identity and create a fake account at Facebook.com? The only way to track the person on Facebook is to track their original location via IP address. To get that address, you have to use some imagination, some verbal skills and a sweet little note that will assure you that he or she is going to answer it through an email client. Tracking the IP address of an email sender does require looking at some technical details. But it is not hard if you know where to look for information after you gain an exact IP address.

You may have noticed a sharp spike in the number of limo-riding, formally-dressed high school kids in your locale a while back. But not all of them are wearing expensive custom dresses or rented tuxedos. The once-original idea of fashioning prom wear from duct tape has taken off — with the help of the Duck brand.
(A quick moment’s rant: While I can’t deny the marketing genius of naming one’s tape business after the most common mispronunciation of “duct,” I do get a little riled every time I see it. It was bad enough when folks called it “duck tape” because they didn’t understand its original application. For years now they can also head down to the local big box and buy some by that name. Doh!)
That’s right. It used to be cool to make a wallet out of duct tape. Then someone went and made a whole outfit out of it. Duck created a contest encouraging students to deck themselves out in tape for Prom. The prizes? A cool $5,000 for first place, $3k for second, $2k for third, and $500 each for seven “runners up.” They offered the same prize to each school that hosts the winning couples, which we imagine helped to smooth the way in a prom environment that’s not very tape-friendly. They call the whole thing “Stuck at Prom.”
Before you laugh it up, check out some of their outfits. Seriously, we’re not talking bulky, gray garbage bags. These are some seriously cool getups. Some of my faves: Amber and Laven’s “Gothic/Victorian style” outfits, Lander and Hannah’s electroluminescent wire-laced dress and suit in black, and Nicholas and Sara’s traditional prom cocktail dress and jacket.
One school in Swainsboro, GA, has even made the whole thing a yearly event, encouraging all students to take part in the process.
Anyway, when I saw the coverage of this on CNN recently, it reminded me of all the cool, creative things Toolmongers do regularly, applying their knowledge and supply of tools to have a good time and make life a little better.
