Add to myYahoo!Today’s Goodwill finds: some metal rings I intend to use for crochet frames and a 1970s craft book: Creative Crafts and Stitchery. I pretty much knew I was going to get it as soon as I saw the cover:

My favorite project in it, and I mean that without any irony, is this doily flower applique. I especially like the leaves.

I almost got a second book that had a pretty great blackwork owl pattern, but I ended up putting it back.
(Ha, just was searching for a good photo of the front cover since my copy is torn, and found out that doe-c-doe and playcait have both posted about this book and also liked the doily applique. Hive mind.)

Add to myYahoo! You can't start a cow-calf herd without having some good quality animals from the outset. Knowing which cattle to look for, where to find them, and what to do with them is all important.

Materials: Melodi, art podge, Ikea napkins and fabric
Description: I wanted lighting that was custom to each room, and my budget was small, so I got some art podge when I was in Hungary and bought a few Melodi lights for our new place on sale at 5 euros a pop.
For the napkin (blue flowers) lamp I took the decorated part of 3 Ikea napkins and separated them from the rest of the layers of napkin, cut everything into rectangles, and used diluted art podge (with water) to get the napkins in the right shape and glued onto the outside of the Melodi. Then I left it hanging on the shower curtain rod to dry for 24 hours, put another coat of straight art podge over the whole thing and voila, a custom lamp that matches our Ikea bedspread.
The second lamp was done with the kids material you can find in the store because it was for my girls' room. This was only one step, using straight art podge with the fabric and left to dry for 24 hours. The only thing you need to remember is that the light is going to shine through, so if you mind the layered look when the light is on, you will need to do a lot of cutting and puzzle piecing to get the whole lamp covered without much overlap. Enjoy!!

Previous post I mentioned about what's next for my Kancil and I did created a poll on which should I go for. And the result is, 4 of my readers suggested I should go for the Mira L200s Rear Lamp. To be frank, I personally hope to get the Mira L200s rear lamp first as well.
Having some time this morning and I went over to the halfcut shop which I frequently visited. Luckily there was still a pair left for me and after some negotiation done with the worker there, I was able to get the rear lamp with a quite reasonable price. I will not post the price here but if you wish to know do contact me.
The installation was pretty straight forward as both the Kancil and Mira rear lamp are sharing the same socket. Besides that, the socket of the wiring is the same as well. Thus there is no need any modification during the installation, just plug and play.
Here are the before and after pictures.
Before
After

Pictures taken during night time. Found out right side bumper rear lamp is malfunction. Thus, is time for me to take out the bumper and check on what is the problem.
