Periods can be a pain in the - well, you get it. Heavy periods (also known as menorrhagia) can be a sign of your luck in the genetic draw, a result of what you're experiencing in life (giving birth, giving up the pill, etc.), or they can be something more serious from a health perspective, such as a disease, disorder, or a miscarriage. When seeking to lighten a period, it's important to deal with the possible health or lifestyle issues involved first, just to be reassured that there's nothing wrong with you. Your doctor's advice and reassurance will clear the way to try a few management methods to try and at least ease the burden of a heavy period. If you try to see lightening your heavy period as being about making it more bearable, and managing it well, then it might be a bit easier for you to cope with heavy periods. While there are a number of things you can do try and lighten heavy periods, sometimes it may be about changing your approach to it.

Add to myYahoo!Hack A Day had a cool contest where the goal was to build a Walking Santa. You can see the entries and winners here. There were lots of cool hacks but I like this one by Adam Outler the best. An Arduino controls the new Santa robot and some transistors are used to power the [...]

I just love that cardigans have made a comeback, but seriously, I hate to spend a lot of money on clothes. Craftster member TeenageRebelOfTheWeek has made some darling cardigans out of thrifted sweaters (jumpers to our friends across the pond). I want to run right out to the thrift and buy loads of bright sweaters now! Go check out her tutorial and post pics if you make any cardigans.

How do you store your dishes while they’re drying? I gave up on the ugly plastic dish drainers and I hated the wooden one, too. Currently I just sit them on a towel. How much cuter is this quilted dishmat?! It’s washable, easy to store and absolutely cute!

I won?t lie, soup is my fall-back dinner in the winter. It?s easy, it makes the house smell great, and I am pretty much obliged to eat some tasty bread with it. Friend of Craftster Trekky whipped up this beautiful vegan soup and shares her recipe. Simply combine a few vegetables, cook in vegetables broth and season for a delicious soup. For a non-vegan option, swirl some cream in at the end.

Materials: Vika table top, ClosetMaid 2 shelf organizer, Casters from Harbor Frieght
Description: I used 2 Closetmaid organizers (from Target) and 2 Vika table tops and four casters. I attached the casters to the underside of one of the Vika tops. I liked these clear retro looking ones from Harbor Freight, they spin nice and come in locking and non-locking. They were only about 5 bucks each. I used 2 of locking and 2 non locking so I could lock the table when I really needed to.
I then attached the Closet Maid organizers to the Vika top with screws. I placed them on the outside middles so I can have optimal storage underneath and on the shelf's in the organizers themselves. The table is the perfect height for me to work on and I have lots of extra storage all the way around. Voila!...an inexpensive and super handy table.

Add to myYahoo!Did you know you can buy these little plants at Dollar Tree? Oh, sure, they are pretty fugly, but the actual little plant at the top is cute. And kinda fuzzy. In the end I decided that no amount of tweaking could make the planter part look good, so I checked to see if I [...]

Sometimes "before" is pretty and sometimes "after" is stunning. That's what I see in Joon's office/craft room/studio makeover reveal. Here it is before. Pretty and fun:
You'd think that was her "after", right? You'd be wrong (me too). Here is her amazing reveal:
I love the gray and white horizontal stripes, the chalkboard wall (great space for notes, ideas and inspiration) and her over all organization. Don't forget the beautiful coral drapes and frames.
So envious of her craft stash! See more pictures on her original post.
You can see more details (tons of accent and organizational eye candy) at her OFFICE REVEAL.
I love her beautiful bedroom - that duvet? Her Pottery Barn Duvet Wanna Be! Lucky girl - it's gorgeous!
One of the things I love about Joon is she gives her decorative accents and accessories names and personalities! It's so fun reading her posts! MEET STANLEY (Stanley's just 1 example of the accessories you'll meet! Darla and Stella are shown above too!)
Head over to meet Joon - you'll need a little time to visit her posts though (warning - it's addicting!). She's also hosting a Follower Appreciation Giveaway you don't want to miss!
Ordy & Joon
Joon - I love your creativity and style. Your projects are awesome! Thank you so much for sharing!
