Some websites only allow small images so they load faster and consume less memory, and getting an email with a huge image can be very annoying. Resizing an image on a Mac is very easy to do once you know how to do it, and requires no extra software other than what comes with the computer.

We have arrived at the Salon Son & Image 2011 show and have taken a quick look at the various exhibits. We have decided that our coverage will be focused primarily around our favorite topics, DIY audio, high sensitivity speaker systems and vacuum tube gear. To get the show coverage started, here are the Orangutan O/96 Oscar loudspeakers (click image to enlarge).

The DeVore Fidelity Orangutan O/96 is a 2-way design that uses a custom SEAS 10" (254 mm) paper cone woofer with a phase plug. The tweeter is a 1" (25 mm) silk-dome tweeter that uses a double-magnet motor system and is gently loaded by a waveguide. The speaker is hand built in New York City and is listed at about $12,000US.
The sensitivity is noted at 96 dB and the nominal impedance is 9 ohms. The representative indicated that the impedance does not drop below 7.8 ohms. The bandwidth is noted as 30 Hz to 31 kHz. The overall dimensions are noted as 12" d x 18" w x 28.5" h (305 x 457 x 723 mm).
The speakers had a very nice coherent sound with holographic imaging. With the high sensitivity and easy to drive load, this speaker will mate well with lower power tube amplifiers.

Materials: Rast dresser, silver leaf, paint, crystal knobs

Description: Painted the Rast dresser with black paint, then applied silver leaf glue adhesive to fronts of drawers. Next was to lay silver leaf on the fronts. Seal the dresser with wipe-on poly and add some bling in the form of crystal knobs!

How to Avoid Angiostrongyliasis, the most common
cause of eosinophilic meningitis or meningoencephalitis in humans

Angiostrongyliasis is the most common cause of eosinophilic meningitis or meningoencephalitis in humans,[1] caused by a nematode Angiostrongylus cantonensis or A. costaricensis. The parasite lives in rodents and infects snails, slugs, crabs, and shrimps, which then infect humans who consume them or vegetables contaminated by them. Ingested Angiostrongylus cantonensis larvae migrate from the gastrointestinal tract to the brain, causing eosinophilic meningitis, with fever and headache.[2] Ingested A. costaricensis larvae mature into adult worms, which then reside in ileocecal arterioles; the worms release eggs into the intestine, causing local inflammation manifesting in fever, abdominal pain, and vomiting. Abdominal angiostrongyliasis may develop into a painful right lower quadrant mass or mimic appendicitis.[2] Here are measures you can take to prevent this serious infection.
